I did not read the novel. I really enjoyed the movie. The action sequences are great. I did not understand how the NAKED blue guy turned into an alien? Probally because to go into all that detail would cause the movie to be 4 hours long. Matinee movie for me. (why was he naked most of the time except when destroying the vietam
